Important Announcements
  • Students have a half day on Monday and Tuesday next week. 
  • Water Cycle test on Tuesday
  • Our student teacher's last day will be December 13th. I am looking for any donations to try to put together a gift basket for his last day! Anything from teacher supplies to small gift cards would be appreciated!! Students can drop off any donations to Mrs. Antone's room in the morning! 


Thank you so much for all the donations. Our class was able to donate 9 turkeys!! The school has brought in food to feed over 600 people at Thanksgiving!

  • Congratulations to Kendal, our November student of the Month

Food Web Poster

Food Web Poster 

Students were given an assignment to create a food web poster and answer two questions. They were given the instructions and a rubric. We started brainstorming today in class, but the rest of the assignment is to be completed at home. Students are encouraged to research their ecosystems to help with identifying animals (if needed), or they may use text resources and science notebooks available in my classroom. Students may also come to extra help on Wednesday (different this week) if needed, or ask questions before the due date (next Monday). Thanks!

  • Mile Madness is Monday at 2:30- 6 students in our class are in the top ten!!!
  • Students who signed up for composting presentation can come in Monday- Wednesday to add the final touches to their presentations! 
  • Extra help will be moved to Wednesday the 30th! This should be the last change for a while! Sorry for short notice!
  • Ronny Leblanc, author of Monsterland, is coming to talk to our class on Halloween!

Weekly Update

Important Announcements 
  • Open House is September 17th 5:30-7:30. This year students will be taking their parents on a scavenger hunt around the classroom! There will not be any presentations this year. The school is trying a more "open house" style format that involves the students! 
  • Half day on September 18th! 
  • Extra help is Tuesday at 8:15. Students are allowed to make up any tests! They should also come to work on any topic that they might be struggling with! We ask that the students come with specific questions to make the most use of the time!

Important Announcements 

  • Book Projects (for my reading class) were assigned on Thursday! They are due October 2nd. 
  • Scholastic orders went home today! Books can be purchased online as well as with a check or cash! 
  • Half day on September 18th! 
  • Our class is lucky to have a Fitchburg State student teacher with us for the next 16 weeks! Mr. Laskey did some prepracticum work in my classroom last year, and I am excited he is back! 

A quick look at next week: 

Math 
  • Writing numbers to the thousandths in standard form, word form, and expanded form
  • Comparing decimals to the thousandths
  • Multiplication Facts review 
  • Quick place value quiz on Thursday! Students should know the names of the place values (millions to thousandths)- Students should be studying throughout the week!
